‘But Luxembourg is in the opposite direction??’ Correct…but this time we planned to pick up the new old car in a different way. Since the old Lady had not done a lot of miles during the past years (actually decades…), we did not want to push our luck too hard by driving all the way home. But having her picked up by a commercial trucking company? Boring and rather expensive – and no challenge for someone working in the logistics sector. So we forged a plan for a more unusual trip…

Armstrong Siddeleys in the Black Forest…

This year’s destination was the Black Forest. The German Armstrong Siddeley Group, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, is assembling on annnual basis for a long weekend. For us it was the fifth “German Armstrong Siddeley Tour (GAST)” – and the first trip to the Black Forest for more than 30 years. WIthin the comfort zone…

During the first year we stayed close to home. Following transfer, German M.O.T. and registration, we did not have any long trips in mind with the Riley. Instead, we rather took her on extended tours  within the vicinity of our home town. After all, we live in an Area where others spend their vacation.
